A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud service with us and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with a few mouse clicks in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated service with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be managed via our custom-created Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes under any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox, you’ll need to click on the sign with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this option can be achieved in the very same manner and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a given domain, you’ll receive a warning alert. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or deactivate anything automatically.
