An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a given site. Every file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have a single webpage with three embedded graphics, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for every of the six files which were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log typically shows the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s OS, worldwide web browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The information that an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a personal computer and used to prepare reports on the functionality of a site, in addition to the web stats that your web hosting server may have generated.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

When you get a cloud hosting from us, you shall be able to decide if access logs should be created and for which domains or subdomains in your account this should be done. You can activate this function from the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, integrated with all shared accounts. Any domain you host or subdomain you set up shall be listed there and you'll see an On/Off option next to every one of them, so you can easily trigger or disable the generation of access logs individually for every single website that you have. You'll be able to save a log to your laptop or computer by clicking on the Download link that you'll see in the exact same section of the CP. The link shall be available even after you disable the log generation, so you will still have access to the data collected by our system.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our sophisticated hosting platform shall create access logs for every website hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, assuming that this function is enabled. All domains and subdomains that you have will be listed inside the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, that we provide with all the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start generating logs for each of them, you should simply click on the compact button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You can deactivate this feature whenever you want by following the very same steps. You can find a Download link for each log in the same exact section of the CP, so you may save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with just a mouse click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the feature has been disabled, so you'll still be able to view the data that has already been generated.
